November Newsletter Pastor Page

Pastor’s Page It is with joy and anticipation that I join you briefly on your congregation’s journey of transition toward whom God calls you to be. For the next three months my role is to provide consistent pastoral leadership through worship, especially advent, moderating sessions, providing pastoral care and fulfilling other pastoral duties as they arise. As we move forward together we remember that this congregation is the body of Christ. We exhibit this by being the hands and feet of Christ answering the cries of those in need; actively seeking paths of justice and providing support for the sick and lonely. We are here to nurture the young and mature in the faith and provide fellowship and community in Christ for all. Part of this transition time is to articulate how you as a congregation are living out being Christ’s body and to discern what this will look like in the future. I come as an experienced and retired pastor, having served many years with my husband Dean, Aboutten years ago we provided interim pastoral leadership for Adrian so I know many of you. Dean plans to hold down the bass section at our church in Brooklyn. We live in Brooklyn on Vineyard Lake. I enjoy lake activities, travel and our 13 grandchildren and 1 great grand. We happily await a 2nd great grandchild due in November and a grandchild due in March. I plan to be in Adrian on Wednesdays and Sunday mornings. I can be present other times as needed. You are welcome to email me emcgormley@gmail.com I look forward to our time together. May God continue to bless this congregation. See you in church. Ellen Rev. Dr. Ellen McGormley
